Need More Help?
SCA may be able to provide some advisory services, linkages to co-op developers, resource people and other experts, training components, other assistance to help you with developing your co-op, or just answer a question you may have. If you’ve looked through our website and need more help, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help your group.
Local co-operatives, credit unions, business service centres and your community may be able to provide some information and support for your co-operative. Your local community members will likely have a wealth of experience and skills and hopefully, an interest in supporting your co-op idea.
The Co-opZone Developers Network Co-operative Website has an extensive amount of information, resources and links to co-op developers with a variety of experiences and expertise.
Enterprise Saskatchewan also offers a number of resources and tools to assist emerging and existing co-operatives. The Director’s Handbook outlines the roles and responsibilities of the board of directors.
The Canadian Co-operative Association has information and resources about co-op development on their website, including information about the Co-operative Development Initiative.
The Co-operative Development Initiative is a Government of Canada program delivered in a partnership of the Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA), Conseil canadien de la coopération et de la mutualité (CCCM), and the Co-operatives Secretariat of the Government of Canada to enhance the contribution of co-operatives to meeting the economic and social needs of Canadians. The Innovative Co-operative Projects component of the program funds innovative projects that address themselves to public policy priority challenges and that will generate best practices and lessons learned.
