My Co-operative Adventure and All 4 Each are teacher resources developed to provide Saskatchewan students with the opportunity to learn about co-operatives. The resources are available as free downloads, below, or on the Public Legal Education Association of Saskatchewan website (look in the Youth and Schools tab) and the Ministry of Education website (look in Social Studies 8 Additional Resources for All 4 Each).

*NEW* My Co-operative Adventure: Money Management, a Teacher Resource for Personal Budgeting and Financial Planning for Workplace and Apprenticeship Mathematics 20 and Life Transitions 30.

MoneyManagementCoverMy Co-operative Adventure: Money Management, Workplace and Apprenticeship Mathematics 20 contains four lessons, an optional wrap up lesson, and additional resources that takes students on a journey of examing their values, learning how to set goals based on their needs, values, and interests, how budgets work, how to deal with real life challenges that arise while trying to stick to a budget, and how to make a budget and adapt it. The optional wrap up lesson guides learners in understanding savings and credit basics, followed by links to additional financial planning and financial literacy resources. Teacher background information, step-by-step lesson procedures, student worksheets (also available as fillable PDFs), exit slips, assessment sheets, rubrics, and summative assessment tools are all included.

This resource is designed as a resource for meeting the indicators for Workplace and Apprenticeship Mathematics 20.6 and specific indicators are listed for each lesson. This resource could also be adapted to fulfill the Money Management Unit of Life Transitions 30.

My Co-operative Adventure: Entrepreneurship 30 for Module 5 of Entrepreneurship 30 and Social Studies 30

MyCo operativeAdventureEntrepreneurship30 webcoverMy Co-operative Adventure: Entrepreneurship 30 is a five-lesson resource that takes students on a journey of understanding co-operatives, identifying unmet needs in their community, and exploring how co-operative businesses can be developed to fulfill these needs. Using participatory teaching methods, students learn the values and principles fundamental to co-operatives, identify their community’s needs and assets and create and pitch their own co-operative business idea to fulfill the identified needs. Also included are teacher background information, step-by-step lesson procedures, appendices to enhance learning, and a marking rubric.

The resource is designed specifically to meet the learning objectives for Module 5 of Saskatchewan's Entrepreneurship 30 curriculum. As well, its first two lessons can be used to fulfill the co-operative-associated objectives of Social Studies 30.

All4Each Sask Websize coverAll 4 Each: A Unit to Empower Co-operative Consciousness for Grade 8 Social Studies

This resource explores the legal and organizational frameworks of co-operatives. Using a Saskatchewan context, it is designed specifically to meet learning outcomes of the Grade 8 Social Studies curriculum.

Students learn about co-operative principles and examples of how the principles are put into practice, examine opportunities to collaborate and work together to meet everyone’s needs, research various types of co-operatives, and finally, develop their own mock co-operative businesses. Also included are teacher background information, step-by-step lesson procedures, appendices to enhance learning, and marking rubrics.
