Help us build the future leaders of co-operatives in Saskatchewan.

Sponsor our youth programs.

Education about co-operatives and general interest in the co-operative model have significantly declined over the last few decades, especially with youth. Today, the principles and values of the co-operative model are largely unseen and unknown to those outside the sector. This is why youth engagement and education are so very important. In order to keep the co-operative movement healthy and relevant, we must engage youth in programs that will inspire them to want to participate and learn about co-operatives.

Our Youth Programs.

Comic Book & Graphic Novel Co-operative Day Camp

Our Comic Book & Graphic Novel Co-operative Day Camp is an innovative day camp that uses the power of visual storytelling to educate youth about how co-operatives work. Over the course of three weeks (one week per age group), youth aged 12-17 learn how to create comics and graphic novels from start to finish. Led by local artists, illustrators, and writers, comic book campers attend workshops that teach them about story structure, page composition, pacing, materials, and creative techniques. At the end of the camp, campers work together to create and publish a comics anthology.

StoryLab: Empowering Youth through Co-operative Story-Based Strategy

StoryLab is a transformative 9-month initiative designed to equip Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth with the skills, tools, and confidence needed to address systemic social issues through creative advocacy. By fostering collaboration, cultural understanding, and co-operative leadership, the program empowers participants to tackle issues such as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), food insecurity, poverty, environmental justice, and systemic racism. Through workshops, mentorship, and public showcases, the program amplifies youth voices to drives meaningful change in their communities. This program is a shift to make Truth and Reconciliation a priority.
